Targa Telematics Spa - one of the world's leading players in the field of the Internet of Things (IoT) and in the development of digital solutions and platforms for connected mobility - announces the appointment of Tiago Elias as Country Manager of TRACKiT, a Viasat Group company. At the same time, he continues as Country Manager of Targa Telematics in Portugal.
The appointment is the result of the acquisition of 100% of the share capital of Viasat Group Spa by Targa Telematics Spa, completed on May 16, 2023, which marks the birth of one of the leading global players in IoT and the development of digital solutions and services for connected mobility. Targa Telematics is thus strengthening its leadership not only in the Italian market, where it originated, but is also growing in European countries where it is present, such as Portugal, Spain, France and the United Kingdom, by providing a wide range of innovative technological solutions in projects with a global dimension.
Tiago Elias will be responsible for the activities of Targa Telematics and TRACKiT in Portugal, driving their development and the implementation of their solutions and technologies in the fields of telematics, intelligent mobility and IoT platforms. With more than 25 years' experience in different sectors of activity, Tiago has worked for companies such as ID Logistics, Dachser, Farmavenix, Vitacress and Avis, among others. He has been Country Manager of Targa Telematics since the company arrived in Portugal in 2020.
The manager has a degree in Business Management from Universidade Lusíada de Lisboa, a post-graduate degree in Marketing from Universidade Independente and is also a guest lecturer at the Escola Superior de Ciências Empresariais of the Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal.
